It is worth the time to make your own Chex mix. The flavors are bold and you get to choose what you want in it. Don't like pretzels, leave them out. Have a nut allergy, make it nut free. So many options. My 3 favorite things about this recipe: Flavor Crunch Tiny bits in the bottom of the bowl

You Need

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 4 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup Wheat Chex cereal
  • 1 cup Corn Chex cereal
  • 1 bag premade snack mix of your choice, I prefer Gardetto's
  • 3 cups garlic rye chips
  • 1 1/2 cups mixed nuts
  • 2 cups French's crispy fried onions
  • Seasoning Mix Ingredients

    • 5 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 Tbsp seasoning salt
    • 1 Tbsp garlic powder
    • 1 Tbsp onion powder
    • 1 Tbsp dry Ranch dressing seasoning
  • How To

    1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
    2. In a large foil pan or roasting pan, melt butter in the oven.
    3. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except seasoning mix ingredients.
    4. Once butter is melted, remove from oven and add all seasoning mix ingredients to melted butter pan. Stir to combine well.
    5. Pour combined dry ingredients into butter pan and stir to ensure all pieces are coated evenly.
    6. Bake at 250 degrees for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
    7. After baking one hour, remove and pour chex mix onto a flat surface covered with paper towels.
    8. Let cool before enjoying or placing in a large sealed baggie or sealed bowl.
