(FYI there's no alcohol in this. It's meant to be a specialty coffee) for all my bay area people, this is my absolutely favorite coffee. got me through college, first job, and reminds me of my days in San Francisco.

  • 8-10 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 8 oz strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/4 cup milk or cream of choice (oat milk and oat creamer)
  • Ice cubes
  • How To

    1. In a glass or cocktail shaker, add the mint leaves and brown sugar
    2. Using a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon, gently muddle the mint and sugar together. This releases the mint oils and flavors. Be careful not to over-muddle or tear the leaves
    3. Add the cooled coffee to the mint and sugar mixture
    4. If using a cocktail shaker, add ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds. If not using a shaker, stir well to combine
    5. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes
    6. Strain the coffee mixture over the ice to remove the mint leaves
    7. Pour in the milk or cream of your choice. For an extra creamy texture, shake the milk or cream separately for about 10 seconds to create a cold foam before adding it to the coffee.
    8. Stir gently to combine all ingredients
    9. Garnish with a fresh sprig of mint
