Oh no! The bananas are going bad… No, wait! It’s time to make banana bread! So moist and mushy, it’s practically pudding. Makes 3 small or 2 large loaf pans or 1 bundt cake

You Need

12 slices
  • 0.5c butter
  • 1.25c sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.25c sour cream
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch salt
  • 1.5c all purpose flour
  • 3 RIPE bananas (more or less, best if brown). *If using frozen bananas, let thaw and pat dry with paper towel.
  • 6oz bag semi sweet chocolate chips
  • How To

    1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
    2. Mix baking soda and sour cream together and set aside
    3. In a separate bowl, cream sugar and butter, suggest electric mixer
    4. Add eggs
    5. Add sour cream mixture
    6. Add vanilla
    7. Add salt
    8. Add flour
    9. Coarsely mash bananas with a fork and stir in by hand
    10. Add chocolate chips
    11. Spray and lightly flour pans
    12. Fill pan(s) 2/3 with batter
    13. Bake. 20-25 minutes in small loaf pans. 25-30 minutes for big loaf pans. 35-40 minutes for bundt cake
    14. Check with a toothpick. We like ours mushy inside so this might be an underestimate of "normal" baking time.
